Julie Cassell-Curtin

All of Julie Cassell-Curtin’s clinical services are currently supervised by Cristina Magrina, M.A., C.Psych.Assoc.

Julie has a Master of Social Work from New York University and is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She has considerable experience providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families in several mental health clinics.

Julie uses a collaborative, strengths-based approach to help her clients address a wide range of issues, including challenges with anxiety and low mood, difficulties meeting behavioural expectations, and struggles to cope with and manage strong emotions. She has a special interest in treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and trauma symptoms in children and teens. She draws upon a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, narrative therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Throughout her years of experiences, Julie has helped caregivers to better recognize and understand their child’s challenges, and has guided them in learning effective parenting strategies. She is committed to working collaboratively with parents and caregivers in an effort to help them to support their children and strengthen their families.
